Product Selector
Easy to apply acrylic primer. Enhances the colour and texture of floors. Facilitates a good adherence of Stonefix Satin Finish Sealer. Suitable for unglazed quarry tiles, terracotta, slate, stone, terrazzo and un-polished marble.
Instructions:
Ensure surface to be treated is completely clean, dry and free from cement and grout stain (see LTP Grout Stain Remover). Any moisture in the floor may cause the LTP Ironwax primer to dry opaque or prevent the seal from reaching full hardness. Using a paintbrush or soft fluff-free cloth, apply a thin coat of LTP Ironwax primer evenly in one direction. Do not rub or buff the surface but allow to dry (approx 1 hour). Apply a second coat at right angles to the first. Subsequent coats (if required) should be applied at right angles to the previous. LTP Ironwax primer hardens after about an hour. Once dry, finish the floor with 1-2 coats of Stonefix Satin Finish Sealer. If in doubt, experiment on spare tiles to establish the optimum number of coats before general use.
NB. The porosity of the floor sometimes creates a whitish film on the surface. This may be removed by simply rinsing with clear water. After the final coat of Satin Finish Sealer, allow the floor to dry for at least 3 hours before walking on. It will take a further three days to achieve full hardness and become fully water resistant.
Coverage:
Approximately 15-30m2 per litre (one coat) depending on substrate porosity.
Attention:
Avoid shaking the bottle prior to use. Frothing of liquid may lead to an inconsistent finish. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a frost proof place.
Avoid using strong detergents and kitchen to wash floors treated with LTP Ironwax Primer. Do not use below freezing. After contact with skin, wash with soap and water. Ironwax Satin may not properly adhere to the most highly vitrified quarry tiles or ceramics. If in doubt, test on an inconspicuous area prior to general application.
Interior Use:
Maintenance for floors finished with Stonefix Satin Finish Floor Sealer - Routinely sweep the floor. Use LTP Floorshine to clean and protect the floor. In areas where the seal becomes worn, reseal using more Satin Finsih Sealer. At some stage, complete renovation of the seal may be desired. In this case use Stonefix Heavy Duty Grime Remover to strip the original seal before re-sealing with Stonefix Satin Finish Floor Sealer.
